1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ in Espresso Brown
The venerable Pontiac Grand Prix received a complete redesign in 1969 under the direction of John DeLorean, who famously later founded DeLorean Motor Company.
The reworked model included an aggressive grille and sharp linework throughout, alongside several engine options that topped out with the mighty 390 horsepower 428 HO powerplant. These upgrades paid off, with GM selling almost four times as many units as the '68 version.
The particular example this model replicates is owned by Scott Mancini, who bought the vehicle in 2016. It attained a Legend-level rating from the Vintage Certification Program at the 2017 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN), being judged an astounding 92.6% factory-original condition.
This 1/18 scale model is lovingly rendered in heavy diecast metal and shows incredible attention to detail. In addition to the precise bodywork, opening doors and hood, and authentic interior, the vehicle features:
• true-to-scale detailing
• factory-matched paint scheme
• accurate badging
• steerable front wheels
• detailed motor and undercarriage
• tilting seats
