Texaco Truck Series #37 (2020) Special Edition in Metallic Gray
1940 Ford Coupe Dirt Track Racer
Known as the Texas Fuel Company, it became one of the first national gasoline distributors and controlled much of the market for gasoline in the U.S.A. Throughout the 1930’s and early 1940’s, Texaco would build 40,000 service stations and become a roadside icon.
You may not consider your humble local gas station much of a community landmark, but there was a time when they were a really big deal—especially in the early days of stock car racing. Many Texaco stations were also independent auto mechanic’s shops offering services far beyond selling just gasolines and lubricants. These shops became gathering places for local dirt track racers.
